What You Should Know About Diet Pills
Posted by: | CommentsMark Kimathi asked:
There are basically two kinds of diet pills; one is the prescription only diet pills and the over-the-counter diet pills.
Prescription diet pills are medical drugs. As such they are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration agency (FDA). The FDA strictly monitors their side effects, their advertising as well as prescriptions. The most popular of these is Xenical, which is currently the only licensed weight loss drug for long-term use. However, drugs being drugs these diet pills always have side effects. For example diarrhea, oily and unexpected fecal discharge is just some side effects that accompany Xenical. Therefore, users are advised to take it with a low fat diet plan.
On the other hand Over-the-Counter diet pills are categorized as food substitute and are unregulated. However having said this beware that these diet pills are not federal authority tested and may cause serious side effects up to and including death.
According to manufacturers, Over-the-Counter diet pills use natural ingredients capable of prolonging life and containing alcohol used in medication or flavoring. But one thing’s for sure, never take diet pills as substitute for cutting calories without the doctor’s recommendation. There are simple but important steps to be followed when taking diet pills, whether prescription or over-the-counter:
1. Take it whole with a full glass of water. Never crush diet pills, for example to mix in drinks or soups. They may not taste that good but unless you are specifically told to chew them, do not chew them, they are designed to be taken whole. Crushing them might make them more powerful than they should be making them lethal.
2. Diet pills cause a person to urinate more frequently due to its diuretic effect. This could lead to dehydration, thus, causing complications. As a pre-caution, it is best to drink eight glasses of water everyday while on diet pills.
3. Never take more pills than you should. Take only the recommended dosage. Taking more than required will not help you lose weight but will definitely increase the risk of side effects.
4. Monitor your heart rate. Heartbeat should be less than 86 beats per minute. Stop taking the pills if it reaches 90 or higher that is why regular checking of pulse is a must. If your heart rate increases inform your doctor/specialist immediately.
5. Always follow the instructions set by the dietitian and/or doctor and not only rely on what’s enclosed in the box. Also diet pills will only work as expected if diet plan is being followed.
6. After three months, stop taking the diet pills. This will mitigate against some side effects like addiction. Other diet pills like phenylpropanolamine are safe to use only up to sixteen weeks. Some studies show that it can cause health problems if taken under one month.
Aside from a dietitian, your local pharmacists can also help in determining the pills that are safe depending on your circumstances and health condition. Just be extra careful about the so-called “natural” or “organic” ingredients. Not everything that comes from a natural source is safe. One example is Ma Huang, which is a botanical source of ephedrine known as a stimulant and being studied for potential side effects.
Those who have or have a family history of prostate problems, thyroid disease, mental illness, high blood pressure, and heart problems should avoid taking diet supplements without medical supervision. The same applies to those who’ve had seizures or strokes.
And as a general rule, don’t ever try to take diet drugs if pregnancy is suspected. Persons that are allergic to sulfites and tartrazine should also avoid taking diet pills. And those who are under 18 years or over 60 years of age should consult their doctor first prior to taking any dietary drugs, especially if they rely on over-the-counter stimulants used as a replacement for increase exercise.
If someone is taking cold medicines, especially those with decongestants, diet pills should not be taken. These two can end up interacting and causing major problems. Whether it is a prescription or an over-the-counter diet pill, the dangers are unvarying with other similar drugs which control the brain to reduce appetite. Such dangers can be as serious as chest pains, hair falling, fever, depression, and even impotence.

Celopin Diet Pill: Does Celopin or Any Diet Pill, Help you Lose Weight Fast?
Posted by: | CommentsRon R asked:
Over the past few decades, the big pharmaceutical companies have marketed over 1000 diet pills – Celopin Diet Pill is only one of their latest offerings. And despite their claims of rapid, easy weight loss, the fact is that a large majority of diet pills DO NOT WORK AT ALL.
The first diet pills go all the way back to the 1950s, when amphetamines were offered as a way to suppress your appetite/boost your metabolism. Unfortunately, amphetamines (also known as “speed”) are highly addictive, and caused so many serious side effects that the drug companies were forced to take them off the market.
There then followed a long line of diet-pill drugs, which came and went as the continual discovery of side effects would force a new pill off the market within a few years. The most infamous case of this, were the “fen-phen” diet pills. The FDA approved this combination of fenfluramine and phentermine, assuring all that it was completely safe. Mere MONTHS later, the FDA had to issue a humiliating reversal of its decision – the “fen-phen” combination produced some of the worst side effects ever seen in any diet pill offered!
But “Big Pharma” wasn’t about to lose this “cash cow” that easily. In order to regain the trust of the general public, they began moving towards the use of “natural ingredients” in their new diet pill offerings. Of course, just because a chemical is produced by a plant, doesn’t mean it’s any safer than one produced in the laboratory.
The most notorious “natural” diet pill ingredient, was ephedra. Similar to caffeine (but more potent), it was eventually found to be causing caffeine-like side effects – but much more serious. Heart palpitations, heart arrhythmias, other heart problems, allergic reactions, nervous system problems – quite a list indeed! It too, was eventually banned in most of the technologically-advanced, Western civilized nations.
Are you seeing a pattern yet?
All of this does not mean that diet pills are entirely useless. A very few, select diet pills, have some value in assisting with weight loss. They can be useful – but only if you know how to use them correctly, and are fully aware of their problems:
1) ALL diet pills are potent drugs. They all have side effects – some of which are potentially very dangerous.
2) The more frequent side effects of diet pills include: heart complications, high blood pressure, dizziness, nervousness, insomnia, dry mouth, and diarrhea or constipation.
3) Like many other drugs, diet pills can be addictive. People have been known to become quite dependent on these pills, even long after they have stopped their dieting.
4) Many “successful” diet pill claims, are by people who also used a diet plan and exercised regularly during this period. Thus, there’s no way to know for certain, whether they would have lost the same amount of weight WITHOUT using the diet pill.
5) Recently, Big Pharma has tried a different approach: Offering watered-down versions of their prescription diet pills, as “over-the-counter” diet pills. Of course, being watered-down, they are even more useless than their original, stronger, prescription-required versions.
Even worse, after taking all these risks and possibly suffering through a list of side effects, ALL diet pills only work for a short time. Typically, your body will adapt to their weight-loss effects, and the pills will lose potency after a couple of months.
But worst of all, is the “bounce”. Many diet pill users report that after they went off the pills, they regained all the weight they lost while on the pills – plus more! (I have personal experience with this: After trying several different diet pills, each time I finished my diet-pill regimen, I would eventually end up at a HIGHER weight, than the weight I started at before using the diet pill!)
So as we can see, despite the promise of “easy weight loss”, using Celopin Diet Pill (and other diet pills) can lead you through a potential minefield of problems and dangers. But as I said earlier, there are ways to deal with these problems, and alternatives for losing weight quickly and easily – if you know where to find Diet Plans that really work! And I will show you exactly that (plus give you full details on how to make your weight loss Permanent, and avoid the “bounce” entirely), in my next article in this series on: http://celopindietpill.blogspot.com

How To Determine Safe Diet Pills ?
Posted by: | CommentsHarry Lloyd asked:
Choosing between safe and harmful diet pills can be a daunting task. When you want to shed a little weight sometimes you need extra help, and diet pills are good for that. First, you will want to research some products.
On the one hand, you have diet pills that are no help at all. These products have little or no ingredients in them that have been proven effective for weight loss. Moreover, on the other you have diet pills that may work, but can cause health problem because of controversial ingredients they contain or the damage they do to metabolism.
You probably will not be surprised to find out that the worst side effects can come from prescribed pills, remember Fen Phen? In fact, many supplements or safe diet pills are created with natural ingredients like the ones pharmaceutical companies try to imitate in prescribed pills.
What used to only be available with a prescription is now easily purchased on the internet. With a short online consultation, you can get drugs like Phentermine, Bontril and Accelis. One reason many of these drugs are dangerous is their ingredients, the human body does not absorb foreign matter well and some essential bodily functions can be impaired. Even if your family physician prescribes, it this does not mean it is a safe diet pill. To be on the safe side, unless you are severely obese, the best alternative is a natural supplement.
You can still order safe diet pills from your home computer, however try to stick with the same products you could find from a local store. When you order online, you can read about other people’s experience with a product both good and bad and stay up to date on side effects and precautions. This way you avoid the bad diet pills right off jump street and save money in the process. You can also stay abreast of the latest news and dangers a particular diet pill may have.
Do your due diligence on any company that you are considering buying diet pills from. Dig around and find out pertinent information like length of time in business, phone number, address, and most importantly the ingredients in the diet pills. Take the time to call the representative and speak to them about the company and the product. They should have detailed information about the ingredients and be willing to share that info with you. Bail on the purchase at any point where you feel uncomfortable about what you have learned. A legitimate company has nothing to fear from scrutiny, if their diet pills are safe that is.
It is a sad day when bad diet pills are produced to line someone’s pockets. Technology and advances in medicine should have done away with the problem of drugs that are harmful to the health, do not address weight loss or both. However, there are many safe diet pills out there, it just takes some time and effort on the part of the consumer to find them, do your homework and you will find a great supplement that will aid you in reaching your weight loss goals.

Colon Cleansing Safety Tips
Posted by: | CommentsKevin Agrawal asked:
If you have a problem with constipation, which option would you choose to remedy the situation?
Over The Counter (OTC) laxative drugs, enemas or purgatives?
Colon hydrotherapy?
Oxygen-based colon cleansers?
Herbal colon cleansers?
OTC laxative drugs usually take about eight to twelve hours to work their way through your system. They are usually taken with warm water the night before so that you experience results by morning. Colon Hydrotherapy needs to be conducted by a skilled technician using highly sterilized equipment. Oxygen-based colon cleansers (which use the oxidation process to “loosen” matter) may work for many, but they do not contain fiber which science has established, as necessary for optimal colon health1. All three of these methods cleanse only the colon—with no viable result on overall health. They do not help to enhance the performance of other eliminatory organs such as the liver, the kidneys, and skin.
Experts say herbal colon cleansers are the better choice because they aid the body in performing the elimination process naturally. They also help to support immune health because they help to maintain a balanced microflora2. Because they are herbal, these colon cleansers are not under the direct supervision of the FDA, but consumers who do their homework will recognize strong natural ingredients and be able to choose a reliable, quality product manufactured by a GMP-certified company.
When making your choice of a colon cleanser, remember these safety tips.
Don’t Become Dehydrated: The body loses fluids when using over–the-counter stimulant laxative drugs and purgatives. These colon cleansers work by absorbing water from the body. This could upset the balance of potassium, sodium, magnesium and phosphorous in the body and can affect the function of vital organs. Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration when using any colon cleanser.
Avoid Addictive Colon Cleansers: Some colon cleansing methods simply purge the body of accumulated waste without engaging the peristaltic muscles of the colon (the muscles used to move food along the digestive tract, and ultimately to disposal). Prolonged use of such colon cleansers causes peristaltic muscles to lose their natural ability to contract leading to greater dependence on laxative drugs. There are a growing number of people who use laxative drugs as a means to lose weight. This is not safe and can present a number of health risks.
Don’t Wash Out Good Bacteria: Prolonged use of OTC laxative drugs and colon hydrotherapy treatment can lead to a weakened immune system since such treatments wash out necessary bacteria and the protective mucus lining. Good bacteria are needed to produce certain nutrients, immune cells and to maintain the colon health. 2
Consult your Doctor: If you suffer from frequent bouts of constipation or diarrhea you should consult your doctor who may want to perform a thorough examination. Ask your doctor about taking a colon cleansing product that adequately suits your needs.
Pregnant and Nursing Women are advised not to wait until after nursing before taking any medications since certain ingredients could harm or adversely affect baby’s delicate health. Such women should consult their doctors before taking any type of medication.
Allergen Sensitivities: Always check if the product contains gluten or other allergens that could trigger a reaction. Many colon cleansers are gluten free and allergen sensitive. Check for these and consult your doctor before taking any colon cleanser.
Colon Cleansing and Prescription Medicine: If you are taking prescription medicine, you should consult with your doctor before starting a colon cleanser program. Ingredients found in certain colon cleansers could effect, react with or dilute the efficacy of the prescription drug.
Medical Conditions: If you are suffering from diabetes do not use laxatives which could contain dextrose, fructose or sucrose–ingredients found in many natural laxatives. If you are suffering from an inflamed appendix or have a fever, or are suffering from vomiting, nausea, or other maladies or health disorders, it is advisable that you do not use a colon cleanser unless it is recommended by your doctor.
Safety for Children: Colon cleansers are not intended for children. Do not administer a colon cleanse product to your child without consulting your doctor first. Keep colon cleansers and other medicines away from the reach of children. Many laxative drugs come in the form of chocolates or flavored syrups which can be very tempting to children.
Proper Storage: Many colon cleansers require you to store them in a cool, dry place or keep them refrigerated. Read the instructions on the label and follow through on them for efficacy of ingredients.
Follow Instructions Carefully: There are colon cleansing programs that require restrictions on your diet. Some may even require you to fast. Others simply require you to drink 8 glasses of water. Read through all instructions carefully and follow them closely. Colon cleansing products will also include contraindications on the labels. Be careful to check if any of contraindications apply to your particular situation. Again,—it is important that you consult your doctor before choosing a colon cleansing method.
Safety is vital when choosing a colon cleansing product. A reliable, trusted manufacturer will ensure a quality product with ingredients that are safe for your body. Study the ingredients and how they work in the body. Many herbs have been studied extensively in recent research studies. The main aim of colon cleansing is not only to provide safe and immediate relief from constipation, but to aid in regulating your system for natural cleansing and elimination of waste.. Nutritional colon cleansing can help to strengthen the functions of the eliminatory organs, thus supporting optimal general health.
