Colon Cleansing Scam- Does A Best Colon Cleanser Exist?
Posted by: | CommentsMichael Hutchins asked:
One of my personal training clients asked me if I believed in a colon cleansing scam. Many of my clients had been bombarded with the sensational claims made by various colon cleanse product manufacturers, and they wanted to know the facts. So I took it upon myself to investigate the various products, in order to determine if the glorious claims were valid.
So, what are some of the claims?
The claims range anywhere from relief from constipation, to preventing colon cancer, and all points in between. Many individuals reported weight losses of 10-15 lbs, in 7-10 days!
It is important to understand that the weight loss is a result of cleansing impacted fecal matter from the walls of the colon, not a loss of body fat.
However, it IS weight loss, just the same! Virtually all individuals report a dramatic increase in energy levels, and overall vitality. Many report improvements in quality and duration of sleep.
The increase in energy can be traced to several factors. First, losing signifficant amounts of waste that literally has been clogging the colon, has GOT to improve energy and vitality.
Secondly, the removal of this impacted matter dramatically improves the function of the colon in terms of the absorption of dietary nutrients. We get to actually benefit from the food we eat.
So, why claims of a colon cleansing scam?
Probably because relatively little research exists that either confirms or denies, the benefits of colon cleansing. Particularly, at home methods of colon cleansing as opposed to a colon irrigation.
The relative lack of research is surprising considering the widespread interest in colon health. Most of the benefits that consumers hear about are case studies presented by the manufacturers.
In conclusion, I don’t believe in a colon cleansing scam. However, consumers should be aware that the results of a colon cleanse will differ from person to person.
So, Is a colon cleanse right for you?

Colon Cleanse Weight Loss- Why It Is Your Secret Weapon For Swimsuit Season
Posted by: | CommentsMichael Hutchins asked:
With Summer just around the corner, now might be the perfect time for a colon cleanse weight loss. Many of my personal training clients have approached me with panic in their eyes, dreading trying to fit in their swimsuits. In addition to continued exercise, and modifications in diet, I frequently suggest that they consider a colon cleansing.
Celebrities such as Oprah have recently touted the benefits of colon cleansing. In addition to removing toxins from their body, many have reported a dramatic boost in energy levels.
Many individuals who embark upon a cleansing, are unaware of the added benefit of colon cleanse weight loss. Some people report losing between 10-15 pounds in 7-14 days! The question is:
Why does this weight loss occur?
Because of environmental toxins and poor diet, the colons of many Americans become unhealthy and polluted. A lack of dietary fiber promotes constipation and unhealthy elimination.
To make matters worse, as the colon becomes more congested, a thick mucous layer forms on the walls of the colon. This layer increases in thickness and mass over a period of time, usually YEARS!
A healthy colon weighs about 4 pounds. Yet, autopsies have revealed colons that weigh MUCH more than that.
During the course of a cleansing, the thick mucous layer is loosened and flushed from the colon. Individuals are instructed to drink ample amounts of water to promote this flushing action.
The interesting aspect of this accumulation of impacted fecal matter, is that when it reaches a certain size, it contributes to a “pooch” in the lower abdomen.
An appearance that is certainly NOT desirable during swimsuit season!
